Telikom PNG sponsors Pom suburban rugby league
Telikom PNG prides itself of being the number one PNG owned Telecommunications Company renowned also for its commitment towards the local community through initiatives like education and sports.
Today the Port Moresby Suburban Rugby League was the proud recipient of a K5, 000 cheque by Telikom PNG.
Telikom has been always been upfront with its support towards backing the local level rugby league competition in the nation’s capital marking todays presentation the first of its kind for the Pom Suburban rugby league tournament.
Presenting the cheque to the Pom Suburban Rugby League committee treasurer, Telikom PNG National Retail Manager, Amos Tepi indicated that TPNG is a nationally owned entity and that it was happy to give back to the local community and continue to build the business through sustenance in any way it could.
Telikom PNG Marketing Manager, Silas Matoli concurred adding that TPNG’s commitment to local level sporting activities and competitions has come a long way in helping youths stay involved with their communities through sports.
Supports such as these are guaranteed to build, strengthen and market the Telikom brand to cover as much spectrum of the society as it could.
Committee treasurer and recipient of the cheque, Thomas Mote said the sponsored amount will go a long way as this will not only move the competition forward for many years but also further strengthen the bond between the local communities and its donors and sponsors like TPNG in future.
“With this timely support from Telikom PNG, the youths taking part in the competition can look forward to finishing off their season of the Pom Suburban rugby league competition come the year’s end.”

Kumul Telikom Waterfront Business Centre Opening

Kumul Telikom Holdings today opened the KTH Business Centre at Waterfront. The Waterfront Business Centre is significant for Kumul Telikom as it will cater for our customers around Downtown, Konedobu, Badili and Motukea areas.
The Business Centre will sell all Kumul Telikom Products/Services including bill payments and attend to general enquiries.
Speaking at the opening KTH Acting CEO Mr Xavier Victor stated that the business centre is a milestone achievement for KTH and is convenient for customers as it operates after normal business hours as well.
“Customers may come here to pay their bills for the services we provide and for general enquiries as well” Victor stated.
Board Director for Kumul Telikom, Mr Kili Tambua who was the Keynote speaker at the opening stated that customers are an important stakeholder in any business. KTH has realigned its business structure and as part of this realignment Telikom will be taking care of the core business services.
“The main objective of doing that is to improve customer service, reduce cost duplication and removing internal competition. We are looking forward to a greater future,” Mr Tambua stated.
In terms of Top-ups, The Business Centre will be selling EVC and Paycom which is the electronic top-up system.
The Waterfront Business Centre is the first step towards Kumul Telikom’s Business Model of a “Shop within a Shop” which we intend to extend into other centres in PNG. The Business Centre will be “Cashless” accepting eftpos and cheque payments only.

THE Boarder Development Authority (BDA) in partnership with Telikom PNG today signed a service level agreement for the provision of telecommunication services to its border post establishment in Wutung, West Sepik Province.
With this new partnership, Telikom PNG will provide voice internet and data services over its iDirect VSAT System which will boost the operations of the Wutung Border Post Establishment.
TELIKOM PNG has announced its new competitive internet rates reducing prices by more than 50% for more bandwidth for its prepaid and post-paid internet plans.
Marketing and Business Development Divisional Manager– Xavier Victor, when making the announcement said Telikom will remain competitive to offer affordable internet rates for everyday Papua New Guineans to have access to the internet.
Telikom PNG has significantly streamlined its retail Internet services delivery process with the recent commissioning of Cisco ASR9000 Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) routers in its core ISP network.
This was recently made possible with the completion of the Cisco Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) by Telikom National Broadband Network (NBN) program engineers.
The Cisco BNG while supporting next generation services such as Video and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) enables customers who purchase ADSL 2+ modem to connect to the internet instantly without the physical assistance of a technician.
Telikom PNG wishes to clarify an article published in the print media today (Wednesday 16th July) stating that “Telikom PNG’s Tiare gateway has major technical problems resulting in congestion on the information superhighway”.
Such article is refuted as it is not based on facts. At no time did the media contact Telikom PNG before publication.
There is no technical problem on the Tiare (Internet) Gateway. Public notices issued by Telikom PNG to the print media since last weekend has provided details on the cause that has given rise to the congestion experienced by businesses, internet users and customers.
