Reuben Kautu - Deputy Chairman
Reuben holds a Bachelor degree in Economics (Business) from University of Papua New Guinea and a Master of Business Administration from the Southern Cross University, Australia. He has also participated in the esteemed ExxonMobil Leadership programs in Singapore and Australia. A young Result-Oriented business professional having worked with British Petroleum and Exxon Mobil in various senior capacities including leading the streamlining, restructure and repositioning of Exxon Mobil's downstream business from 2005 to 2008. His success saw him get appointed CEO of the struggling and almost insolvent Telikom PNG’s subsidiary-Kalang Advertising Limited in 2009 and acquired a media agency company (Ad Effects Limited) in 2010. He was then appointed as Chairman of PNG DataCo in March 2014 and then appointed deputy chairman of the merged stated owned telco companies (Telikom, Bemobile and PNG DataCo) i.e. Kumul Telikom Holdings. In 2016 he was also appointed by the WNBPG as chairman of the PNG Games Committee and successfully delivered the PNG Games in 2017.
In management he was known for his strong leadership, commercial and financial skills in managing change and achieving success in organisations he has managed or became part of. A Strong strategic planner, problem solver and persuasive leader, with proven abilities in strategic planning, managing multi streamlined and divestment model projects, improving efficiencies of operations, managing Change, team building and managing business to determine effective process for operations and profitability.
He would like to see that Papua New Guineans enjoy and be empowered through effective, efficient and consistent low cost communications throughout the country with synergies and savings that the new merged state telecommunications entities bring about as well as enrich employees to excel and allow meaning full participation in the success of each of those entities.
