REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

Telikom PNG is the national telecommunication company owned wholly by the government of Papua New Guinea, responsible for providing telecommunication services to the end users throughout the country. The company has been in this industry since 1952 owning and operating the core telecommunication network of fixed lines and data services. In 2002, Telikom PNG introduced GSM Mobile Service business through its subsidiary company called “Pacific Mobile Communications” which was later amalgamated. Having in mind the vision to be the leading communication company in the region, we are now realigning our workforce and marketing strategies to be more customer-focused and take the company to a new height in the Telecommunication industry in PNG.

Telikom PNG is now inviting interested organisations and/or professional individuals to write an extensive Strategic Marketing Plan for the company. The contractor will equally examine each of the Company’s departments and design marketing strategies to give the company a competitive direction. Much of the information needed to design the Strategic Marketing Plan including market research findings will be provided by Telikom PNG to the winning contractor. The contractor will also be required to do further researches both within and outside the country to solicit relevant information that can be used to draw up the Plan.

Companies or professional individuals with specialised expertise and experience in the telecommunication industry are preferred. The contract term is 3 months, however, the commencement date of the project will be negotiated with the successful contractor.

Interested Individuals or professional organisations who wish to apply should possess the following pre-requisite requirements;

• Sound knowledge and experience in writing business or marketing proposals of well reputed companies.
• Extensive overseas experience particularly in the telecommunication carrier company.
• Highly qualified persons in communication-engineering and marketing who have more than 5 years experience in senior management positions with international companies. 
• In-depth technical knowledge of products and services offered by carriers and those currently available in the telecommunication market, including the following, but not limited to;
• Internet and IP.
• Voice and Data/ IP access networks.
• Coverage Telecommunications Technologies.
• Next Generation Network (NGN) technologies.
• WLL (WiMAX).
• Mobile products
• Satellite and VSAT products.
• Inter-connections with international and domestic carriers.
• Interconnections with domestic GSM mobile operators and internet service providers (ISPS).
• Premium and Value Added Services.
• Broadband products. (ADSL)
