1. What is EVDO? EVDO is an acronym for "Evolution Data Only". It is a standard for high speed wireless networks used for Broadband Internet connectivity. Just by inserting an EVDO card into the computer, users get connected to the Internet within seconds and have Net access at DSL-compatible speeds.

2. What is the minimum and maximum download speed?

* Minimum download speed is 400kbps
* Maximum download speed is 2.4 Mbps

3. What is the minimum and maximum upload speed?

* Mnimum uplink speed is 256kbps
* Maximum uplink speed is 1.2 Mbps

4. Will the service allow for connection to a router at the subscription level for multi-connections?
Yes, you can connect to a Wired/wireless router for multiple accesses on your private network

5. Will Telikom provide the 3G routers as well for multi-connections (useful for schools or small office networking)? No, it’s up to the customer to buy their own routers.

6. Is this service fixed or mobile? The service can be fixed or mobile.

7. If EVDO service is mobile, when I roam, will I be charged? Yes

8. What are the Roaming Charges? The roaming charges will be K84 monthly

9. What is the coverage range in km from the BTS to the point of connection where the signal drops off?
Typical range is from 3 – 5km

10. Can customers create corporate VPN? Yes, you can connect to your VPN through EVDO access

11. Will Telikom provide VPN services thru EVDO? Yes, Telikom customers can access their corporate VPN (virtual private network) anywhere they can get a cellular signal via a secure, encrypted signal.

12. Is the cellular signal encrypted? Yes.

13. What are the possible scenarios for fraud? Unauthorized access using stolen EVDO modem (if not reported by customer)

14. What are the possible fault scenarios?

* EVDO BTS not radiating
* Faulty EVDO modem
* Backhaul link from BTS to Core is down

15. If I purchase my own ‘air card’ (EVDO modem) from other vendor, will I still connect to the service?
No, you must have Telikom authorized EVDO modem in order to access the Telikom CDMA network

16. Is there any terms and conditions governing my subscription to the service? Yes, all users will be bound by a terms and condition policy

17. If my ‘air card’ is lost or stolen, what is the process that I must follow to have my service deactivated?

* Call customer service
* Give the details of your air card
* Customer service reports to Customer Service Representatives for deactivation

18. Does Telikom have a query management and fault reporting process in place? Yes,

19. Who do I contact if I have a problem with my service? Customer Service on 323 5555

20. Does Telikom have ‘hot sports’ for this service? No,

21. What subscription plans can I subscribe to and what are their charges? Information can be obtained from your nearest Telikom Business Office

22. Is this service post-paid or pre-paid? Post-paid

23. Is there warrantee for the ‘air card’? Yes, there is Warranty

24. How do I subscribe?

* Go to you nearest Telikom Business Office
* Fill in an application form
* Pay for your modem
* You will be allocated a customer number, username & password for access

25. Where is the service available?
In areas where EV-DO signal is available

26. What operation system is this service applicable to? Windows 2000, XP and Vista
