B Mobile Service - PREPAID FAQs

(1.) What are some of the Additional Network Features provided by B Mobile GSM Prepaid Service?


The additional network features provided by B Mobile GSM Prepaid Service are Caller ID, Short Message Service (SMS), Voicemail and SIM Security Codes (PIN 1and PIN 2).

 

(2.) When is the Voicemail Service Beneficial?


The Voicemail service is beneficial when people may try to call you and your B Mobile Phone may be off, out of coverage, busy or unanswered. With Voicemail you can still receive these calls in your voicemail box and retrieve them later. You will never have to miss an important call again.

For programming the types of Voicemail Diversions from your mobile phone you may refer to the B Mobile Prepaid Start Up Kit and the User Guide provided with your mobile phone.

 

(3.) How can I set up my GSM Mobile Phone for Voicemail?


You will need to enter your Voicemail Diversion Number in your phone by following the instructions in the user guide provided with your mobile phone.

Your Voicemail number is 1150XXXXXXX where the X characters represent your mobile phone number. For example if your mobile phone number is 654 9503 then your voicemail number will be 11506549503.

 

(4.) How will know if I have a Voicemail in my mailbox?


You will be advised via a text message when a Voicemail has been left in your mailbox.

 

(5.) If I want to retrieve, save or delete messages in my Voicemail, what shall I do?

  • Dial 1151+Send-from your mobile phone
  • Enter your 4 digit security code followed by the # (the default code is 1243).
  • Enter: 2 to play the message
    3 to play the next message
    4 to go back to the last message
    76 to erase the message
    * for help


(6.) Is it possible to record a personal greeting?


Yes, it is possible.

  • Dial 1151+Send-from your mobile phone
  • Enter your 4 digit security code followed by # (the default code is 1234)
  • Enter 8 followed by * for options,
    2 to change the greeting,
    1 to record your new greeting,
    # when you have finished recording. The greeting can be up to 90 seconds long.
    2 to hear your greeting
    76 to erase the greeting if you are not happy with it. Then go back to the re-record.

(7.) May you give me an example of a Sample Greeting?


“Thank you for calling (your name or number). Unfortunately I am unavailable. Please leave a message after the tone and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you.”

 

(8.) What must I do if I cannot make outgoing calls using my B Mobile Prepaid Service?


You must check your account balance by calling 1250 and following the voice prompts.

 

Some mobile phones allow you to select line one or line two (not available with B Mobile). If line two is accidently selected you will not be able to make outgoing calls and 2 will be displayed in the standby mode.


You must also ensure that “Own Number Sending” is set to “On” or will not be able to make outgoing calls. Refer to your mobile phone owner’s guide for full details of how to change these settings.


Ensure that your battery is fully charged and you are within the B Mobile Coverage Area.

 

(9.) What must I do if I cannot receive calls using my B Mobile Prepaid Service?


If you cannot receive calls check that your account validity has not expired by calling Customer Service on 323 5555.
